Exhibition of the House-Museum of the artist Nikolai Khokhryakov
About exhibition
The house-museum of artist N. N. Khokhryakov is a monument of the history and culture of the city of Vyatka. The building preserves an enfilade layout characteristic of civil architecture of the first half of the 19th century. The memorial exhibition includes paintings, studies, and graphic works by the Vyatka artist and pupil of I. I. Shishkin, N. N. Khokhryakov, as well as photographs and personal/memorial items that recreate the atmosphere of the house where the master lived and worked. He was among the founders of the art-historical museum in Vyatka and devoted more than 20 years of his life to serving the museum. The museum's collections include the artist's paintings, drawings, etchings, and travel albums. Much of his pictorial legacy consists of landscapes that convey the subtle beauty of Vyatka's nature. The ticket price includes admission to both the permanent and temporary exhibitions.
