Exhibition of the B. M. Kustodiev House-Museum
About exhibition
The museum has one exhibition hall and six main display rooms. It houses a wide range of Boris Kustodiev's works that reflect his artistic explorations: drawings, technical graphics, sculpture, sketches for theatrical set designs, illustrations for literary works, and, of course, an extensive collection of paintings. The B. M. Kustodiev House-Museum presents visitors with the artist's authentic masterpieces, including his famous paintings: 'Khristosovanie' (Christ's Blessing), 'The Harvest', and 'Summer Festival'. The museum also showcases another unusual aspect of Kustodiev's activity — his interest in photographic art: many original photographs that Kustodiev took during his travels. In one of the house-museum's rooms visitors can see works by his teacher and mentor P. A. Vlasov, who instilled in Kustodiev a love of art. His granddaughter, T. K. Kustodieva, a well-known Russian art historian, donated to the museum unique photographs from her grandfather's family archive, works by his son Kirill, and items that belonged to the Kustodiev family.
