Exhibition of the B. L. Pasternak House-Museum
About exhibition
The interior of the house has remained as it was during B. Pasternak's lifetime: a writing desk, a lamp, a bookshelf… The house preserves personal belongings, books, and paintings by the writer's father — the distinguished artist L. Pasternak, a friend of L. Tolstoy. His illustrations for the novel “Resurrection” can be seen in the study on the second floor. Over the years Pasternak's guests included A. Akhmatova, K. Chukovsky, Vs. Ivanov, K. Fedin, O. Berggolts, F. Asmus, P. Kapitsa, A. Kruchyonykh, V. Shalamov, A. Voznesensky, Y. Yevtushenko, V. Ivanov, I. Berlin, and L. Bernstein. Outstanding pianists from the Neuhaus family, S. Richter, and M. Yudina played the piano there. Visitors are invited on a remarkable journey through Pasternak's life, brought to life by authentic household items carefully preserved by his descendants and the museum's caretakers.
