You will see authentic items related to the history of Russia's army and navy from the 18th to the 21st centuries: uniforms, equipment and weaponry, personal belongings of the nation's heroes, photographs, documents, paintings, sculpture, prints and more. Dioramas, near-real-life objects and reconstructions complement the museum's traditional exhibition spaces. The exhibition includes genuine rarities: an officer's sabre from the battleship 'Empress Maria', presentation weapons awarded to participants of the First World War and the Civil War, awards and personal effects of participants in the Great Patriotic War (1941–1945), including the Marshals of Victory, items documenting postwar space exploration and the Cold War, 20th-century local wars, peacekeeping operations of the Russian Army, etc. The observation platform displays 160 samples of weapons and military equipment, mostly of domestic manufacture, among which are some unique items in the world. Visitors are also presented with temporary exhibitions on military-historical themes.
