Exhibition «Stalingrad Bunker»
About exhibition
The exhibition is located in the shelter of the Voroshilovsky District House of Culture (the former Tramworkers' Club of the M.V. Frunze tram depot). The display was created in memory of the resilience and courage of Soviet soldiers, home-front workers, and transport sector employees of Stalingrad in 1941–1943. As part of patriotic education, events are held for preschool and school children, students, and veterans. During the exhibition, emphasis is placed on the connection between the heroic deeds of soldiers and officers of the Great Patriotic War and the heroism of Russian servicemen in the area of the Special Military Operation (SMO). The exhibition contains artifacts, recreates the postwar domestic environment of the city's inhabitants, and also displays items from the SMO area. Visitors are given the opportunity to literally touch the objects—witnesses of historical events. While exploring the bomb shelter's structure, visitors can try pumping air into the room themselves using a manual ventilation system. Guests can also descend into an underground passage that leads to a safe zone.
