Exhibition “Be Prepared! Always Prepared! From the History of the Ryazan Regional Pioneer Organization”
About exhibition
The exhibition presents materials on the activities of the All-Union Pioneer Organization named after V. I. Lenin in Ryazan and the surrounding region. The history of the Ryazan pioneer movement began on May 1, 1923, when the first pioneer detachment in the Ryazan province was formed at the Children’s Home named after the Third International. Its prototype was a children’s club established a year earlier at the children’s library in the town of Skopin. The exhibition recreates a pioneer room with related paraphernalia: a drum, a bugle, pioneer banners and neckerchiefs. Such pioneer rooms were found in every school in the country. The exhibits allow visitors not only to delve into the history of the pioneers but also to grasp the spirit of this all-Union children’s and youth organization, its structure, symbols, attributes, and rituals.
