Exhibition "Cathedral of the Nativity of the Mother of God"
About exhibition
Visitors will take a walk around the Kremlin grounds — the oldest part of Suzdal. The Kremlin preserves a magnificent ensemble of the bishop's court of the Suzdal hierarch and a monumental bell tower with a clock chime. The Cathedral of the Nativity of the Mother of God will move everyone: it houses gilded doors from the pre‑Mongol period, made using the fire‑gilding technique. In the cathedral, attention is drawn to a large 17th‑century external lantern echoing the contours of the church, a holy‑water font shaped like a samovar, and an ancient iconostasis, several icons of which were painted by the tsar's iconographer, a pupil of Simon Ushakov, Georgy Zinovyev. The Suzdal Kremlin is a UNESCO World Cultural Heritage site.
