Exhibition “The Battle for Moscow. The First Victory!”
About exhibition
Vivid artistic images of Muscovites affected by the war are presented in dozens of sculptures of real people. They allow visitors to learn about the fates and heroic deeds of participants in the Battle for Moscow and the city's defenders. The exhibition includes five three-dimensional interactive panoramas, 24 multimedia complexes, and four reconstruction films. The combination of modern technological solutions and historically accurate sets creates an “immersion” effect; visitors will experience all the trials that befell Muscovites from June to December 1941 — from the outbreak of war to the momentous counteroffensive of the Red Army. The exhibition houses more than 1,700 exhibits, including personal belongings of Lt. Gen. M. Efremov, the renowned General L. Dovator, and participants of the people's militia — playwright V. Rozov and V. Voronchenko. The interactive panels feature over 3,500,000 photographs, more than 1,000 scanned documents, and over 2,000 reference materials, including statistical data on city life in the first months of the war; the course of defensive and offensive military operations of the Red Army; management of urban services in besieged Moscow; and the camouflage of city buildings. Museum admission tickets are paid separately.
