About exhibition
The Belokalitvinsky Historical and Local History Museum invites you to visit an exhibition of items from its archaeological collection. The exhibition represents the culmination of many years of research by archaeological expeditions, historians, philologists, enthusiasts and concerned residents of the district and region. The collection comprises more than 300 exhibits. In addition, the flora and fauna of the local feather‑grass and mixed‑grass steppe are presented visually, as are the features of the way of life of the peoples who at various times inhabited the central part of the Rostov Region. In the hall the following displays are presented to visitors: "Stone Age", "Bronze Age", "Scythians – Sarmatians", "Tanais. The Bosporan Kingdom", "Orthodox Rus", "Slavs and Polovtsians", "Cossack Free Life", "Geological Collection", "Paleontological Collection", "Flora and Fauna of the Don Region". Research of the burial mounds (kurgans) and ancient settlements in the vicinity of Belaya Kalitva continues to this day. The museum specialists are happy to welcome guests in the exhibition hall!
