Exhibition '1884'
About exhibition
The exhibition tells what the 'Samara Newspaper' was like 140 years ago in terms of its people, its influence on society, on literature and social life, on affairs, families, everyday life and the interests of the people who lived in Samara, and how it, among other things, helped form the cultural code of Samara's inhabitants. This exhibition is a journey into the inner world of an employee of the 'Samara Newspaper'—or rather four of them—who most vividly show how the intellectual and the writer were formed at the turn of the 19th–20th centuries. Visitors will learn about people such as Yevgeny Chirikov, Stepan Skitalets, Alexander Smirnov and Nikolai Garin-Mikhailovsky, their lives and activities.
