Guided tour of the Museum of the History of the Kostroma Region

About exhibition

During your visit to the museum you will become acquainted with the main milestones in the region's history, from deep antiquity up to the 1970s. The first inhabitants, Slavic colonization, Kostroma's ties to the Godunovs and the Romanovs, the formation of the Kostroma Governorate, revolutionary events and subsequent peaceful development. Guides will tell you about these milestones and many other episodes of Kostroma's history. On the first floor there is a section of the exhibition that presents archaeological finds from Vezhi Island and the first inhabitants of these lands. The second floor is dedicated to furnishings and household items brought from manor museums.
