Guided tour "The Silver Treasury"
About exhibition
During the tour you will see an exhibition presenting more than 200 pieces of jewelry from the Suvaro-Bulgar period and the ethnographic groups of the Chuvash. You will learn in detail about Chuvash women's and girls' silver and bead ornaments from the 13th-20th centuries: headpieces (khushpu, tukhya), ear ornaments (alka, khalha saki, sarka), neckpieces (syukha, maya), chest ornaments (ama, shulkeme), back-mounted and across-the-shoulder pieces (tevet), belt ornaments (khure), bracelets, rings, and coins. Visitors to the exhibition will also trace the stages of development of contemporary Chuvash jewelry art and see the work of modern jeweler-artists and folk masters Vladislav Sukharev, Boris Chachev, Nikolai and Lyudmila Baltaev.
