Guided tour of the exhibition 'The Battle of Sudbishche'
About exhibition
Visitors will learn about the 1555 Battle of Sudbishche, one of the key events in Russian military history during the reign of Tsar Ivan the Terrible. The introduction to the displayed material is accompanied by an engaging commentary from the guide, demonstrations of maps, reconstructions of Russian and Crimean Tatar warriors, and a portrait gallery. Particularly compelling are the period weapons and armor: chain mail, helmet, saber, musket, and a bow set (saadak). All of these can be tried on, handled, and photographed. The exhibition will appeal to professional historians as well as a wide audience, especially schoolchildren and students.
