Excursion "Overview of the Museum of Fine Arts of the 20th–21st Centuries"
About exhibition
During the tour, visitors will learn the history of the museum building, which was constructed in 1905–1906 to a design by the famous Simbirsk architect Auguste Shodé. Guests will be introduced to masterpieces by artists from well-known early 20th-century art movements: Mir Iskusstva (World of Art), Bubnovy Valet (Jack of Diamonds), Blue Rose, and Supremus. The permanent exhibition also features works from the Soviet period and contemporary Russia. Among the exhibits are unique works by masters such as Zinaida Serebriakova, Stanislav Zhukovsky, Pyotr Petrovichev, Leonard Turzhansky, Boris Kustodiev, Isaak Brodsky, Natalia Goncharova, Mikhail Larionov, Pyotr Konchalovsky, Ilya Mashkov, Olga Rozanova, Sergey Konenkov, Nikolai Krymov, Alexander Drevin, Alexander Bubnov, Boris Ioganson, Viktor Popkov, and Natalia Nesterova.
