«Twice Victorious: Light for Life»
About exhibition
The exhibition is organized in the Year of the 80th Anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War and in the Year of the Defender of the Fatherland, declared by the President of Russia. This is the first exposition to showcase the contribution of the country’s entire fuel and energy complex to the Victory in a contemporary format. The exhibition combines archival materials with modern digital solutions. The project is dedicated to the workers of the fuel and energy complex — power engineers, miners, oil workers — who, by their labor on the home front and their feats at the front, hastened the Victory, and to those who, returning from the front, again performed heroic deeds, turning our country into a powerful economic state through their work. The exposition will present unique exhibits — documents, archival footage and live testimonies of FEC veterans. In addition, the project has specially compiled the names of heroes — two-time victors — representatives of the fuel and energy complex. For the first time an interactive Energy Map of Russia will also be presented, containing information about energy facilities from the time of GOELRO to the present day. The initiator of the exhibition is the Ministry of Energy of the Russian Federation. The exhibition project has been realized jointly with the Ministries of Culture and Defense of the Russian Federation, the State Fund “Defenders of the Fatherland” and the All-Russian public movement “People’s Front”. Visitors to the Victory Museum will be able to view the exhibition free of charge.
