The Tkachyov Brothers: A Family Portrait

Visitors will be presented with photographs (photocopies) from the archive of the family of the artist brothers Tkachyov, provided to the museum as part of the anniversary events dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the birth of Alexei Petrovich Tkachyov, People's Artist of the USSR and a full member of the Russian Academy of Arts. The Tkachyov brothers spoke very warmly of their close circle: "It is known that the family largely determines the course of ordinary life. And for an artist this is especially important. In youth we understood little about everyday matters. Only after many years did we truly appreciate the role of our father and mother. By their example they showed how to live, how to relate to people, and, finally, how to love nature and every creature on earth." The exhibition will introduce visitors to the family of the Tkachyov artists: the parents, brothers and sister. The display also includes photographs of Elena Alekseevna Tkachyova and Maria Tkachyova — the daughter and granddaughter of Alexei Petrovich Tkachyov.
