Postage stamp for the 100th anniversary of Tchaikovsky's birth, 1940

A commemorative postage stamp marking the 100th anniversary of the birth of Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky. Its face value is 50 kopecks. The stamp is rectangular and monochrome, with a perforated edge.

At the centre, in a shaped rectangular frame with rounded corners, is an image of the Tchaikovsky House-Museum in Klin: the facade of the house seen from the central avenue of the park, drawn in a hatched manner. The stamp is white and burgundy.

The design is by Ivan Ivanovich Dubasov. The stamp was printed in Moscow in 1940 in colour print on paper.
