A set design for the scene "The St Petersburg Ball" from Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky's opera "Eugene Onegin". The author is Boris Vladimirovich Shchuko, and the work is dated 1933.

Soldiers of the era of Nicholas I are shown to the left and right of the stage. In the centre is a fragment of a classical-style town mansion: a rusticated lower part, columns and tall semicircular windows in which the silhouettes of dancers can be seen. In front of the house are a sentry box with a sentry and a group of guests. The sketch is in orange-brown, grey and black tones. The technique is gouache and watercolour on paper.
